Accountivity is hiring!Job Title:Internal AuditorLocation:Peel Region, ONJob Type:PermanentSalary:$75,000-$85,000/yearOur client inPeel Region, ONis actively looking for anInternal Auditorto join their team.Position Description:Financial Review & Oversight:Perform detailed reviews of monthly and annual client financial statementsEnsure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies and applicable accounting standards (ASPE/IFRS, where applicable)Analyze financial data to identify unusual or inconsistent activity, including large variances, balance sheet discrepancies, bank reconciliations, utility sub-metering, and AR/AP sub-ledgersProvide technical guidance on complex accounting mattersAct as the final quality checkpoint before financial reports are delivered to clientsEnsure consistency across multiple properties, portfolios, or client entitiesLiaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve financial discrepanciesProcess Improvement & Internal Controls:Develop, implement, and enforce standardized accounting procedures and internal controlsIdentify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and timelinessMaintain and update financial review checklists and standard operating procedures (SOPs)Reporting & Compliance:Monitor and track key quality metrics and compliance measures (e.G., error rates, adjustments, deadlines,



reporting cycles)Prepare summary reports for senior management highlighting financial risks, trends, and key issuesSupport internal and external audits by ensuring documentation is complete and accurateEnsure compliance with regulatory, tax, and corporate reporting requirementsSkills & Qualifications:5-7 years of progressive accounting, audit, or financial reporting experienceStrong understanding of accounting principles and standards (ASPE/IFRS)Proven ability to review high volumes of financial statements (200+ per reporting cycle) with strong attention to detailExperience operating with an external auditor mindset, including risk identification, analytical review, and qualified skepticismProficiency in accounting software; experience with Yardi is considered an assetAdvanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilitiesExcellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and recommend solutionsStrong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams and external stakeholdersHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlinesExperience in real estate or property accounting is an asset (Residential)If you meet the above qualifications, please submit your resume.
