Job Summary The ResearchTV Outreach intern will assist full time staff to work with Academic filmmakers, Universities, Museums, Archives and Not-for-profit organizations to make use of our educational streaming platform. The intern will assist FFLT in our multi-pronged approach to deliver engaging educational content in English, French, and Indigenous languages and to promote language revitalization. They will develop communication skills required for the creation and promotion of educational content.

Duties

- Learn media production and post-production, distribution, graphic and web-design.
- Help marketing the educational and community platform via website, newsletters, festivals and community outreach.
- Help organize in person and online outreach events hosted on the streaming service.
- Work directly with educational content providers, subscribers, followers and others to answer questions and maintain their interest.
- The intern will learn how to produce a regular newsletter, how to work with the media and target specific organizations or conferences in order to advertise ResearchTV.
- The intern will also assist in all phases maintaining the platform, from the intake of film submissions, writing profiles of films and filmmakers, programming of releases/highlights etc.,



responding to requests from viewers and communicating with our educational distribution partners such as McIntyre Media.

Qualifications: Candidate Criteria

- Candidate must be a new entrant into the workforce, are transitioning to a new career, or the unemployed or underemployed who are entering a new field.
- Candidate must have not previously participated in an NOHFC funded internship in the 2020 Mandate.
- Candidate must be 18 years of age or older.
- Candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Once hired, the candidate must reside in the Northern Ontario community in which they are employed.

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 per week
