Job Overview The Packaging Team Member is responsible for executing daily coffee and tea packaging activities, ensuring finished products are packaged, labelled, and documented accurately and in accordance with Fratello Coffee Roasters’ quality, food safety, and regulatory standards. This position is also responsible for preparing green coffee for roasting and assisting roasting departments, when operationally required.

This role supports production and fulfillment by following the daily packaging schedule, adhering to documented procedures, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Packaging Team Members are expected to work collaboratively, follow Packaging Supervisor direction, and uphold professional workplace standards.

Areas of Responsibility

Packaging Execution

- Package roasted coffee and tea products according to the daily packaging schedule and supervisor direction
- Accurately weigh, fill, seal, and label products in accordance with approved specifications and packaging standards
- Perform visual, weight, seal, and label checks during packaging to ensure product accuracy and quality
- Assemble cases, close and tape boxes, and palletize finished goods appropriately
- Move finished product from packaging lines to designated pallet or staging areas
- Pre-label packaging materials when required and directed
- Grind coffee as specified on the daily packaging schedule
- Handle in-process and leftover product appropriately, including covering and storing as required

Green Coffee Handling & Preparation

- Load, and monitor green coffee levels in silos
- Ensure green coffee is staged, labeled, and ready in advance to support uninterrupted roasting operations




- Handle green coffee carefully to protect quality, traceability, and food safety

Build Assemblies & Documentation

- Complete packaging build assemblies accurately as trained and directed by the Packaging Supervisor
- Record required production and packaging information to support traceability and inventory accuracy
- Escalate incomplete, missing, or unclear build assemblies to the Packaging Supervisor immediately
- Maintain accurate packaging documentation in accordance with company procedures

Inventory & Materials Handling

- Use packaging materials efficiently and handle finished goods carefully to prevent waste or damage
- Notify the Packaging Supervisor of low or abnormal levels of roasted coffee, tea, labels, bags, boxes, or other packaging materials
- Properly return empty bins, unused materials, and equipment to designated areas
- Stock tea products as required

Food Safety, Sanitation & Facility Standards

- Follow all food safety, sanitation, hygiene, and GMP procedures applicable to packaging operations
- Participate in pre-operational checks and scheduled cleaning tasks as assigned
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation and shared packaging areas
- Handle products in a manner that protects food safety, traceability, and product integrity
- Report safety,



quality or equipment concerns/repairs immediately to the Packaging Supervisor or Product & Operations Manager

Cross-Department Support & Qualified Conduct

- Read, understand, and comply with all packaging-related SOPs and training materials contained in the Packaging Team Training Binder
- Assist Roasting teams when required to support overall operational flow
- Complete required training and sign all training acknowledgment forms as assigned
- Follow supervisor direction and established procedures at all times
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with supervisors and team members
- Support a positive team environment by working collaboratively and avoiding gossip or speculation
- Escalate questions, concerns, quality issues, or safety issues directly to the Packaging Supervisor or Roasting Supervisor

- Minimum high school education
- Ability to perform physical tasks required in roasting / packaging environments

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
