Black Mentorship Inc. (BMI) is a Canadian-registered charitable organization dedicated to empowering Black professionals, youth, and entrepreneurs across Canada. Through a unique, structured mentorship model, BMI connects individuals at every stage of their professional journey with industry leaders and subject-matter experts, fostering leadership, equity, and career advancement through mentorship, education, and skills-building.
About the Program
Black Mentorship Inc.’s YouthRise program is a nine-week, paid employment-readiness program designed to help young adults build practical workplace skills, strengthen their confidence, explore career opportunities, and prepare for long-term employment success.
Participants will attend interactive workshops, complete practical activities, receive employment guidance, and gain valuable experience in a supportive and inclusive environment.

- Compensation of $17.60 per hour throughout the program
Program Responsibilities Successful applicants will be expected to:
- Attend the program in person from Monday to Thursday
- Arrive on time and participate fully in scheduled activities
- Complete assigned workshops, activities, and employment-readiness tasks
- Work respectfully and collaboratively with facilitators and other participants
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn, grow, and receive feedback
- Commit to the entire nine-week program
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must
- Be between 18 and 29 years of age
- Live in Halton Region, the Greater Toronto Area, Hamilton, or surrounding cities
- Be currently out of school
- Be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident
- Be available to participate in person in Oakville
- Be able to commit to the full nine-week schedule, Monday to Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Be motivated to develop new skills and prepare for employment
