Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver engaging lessons in high school-level math, including algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics
- Use technology and computer skills to enhance lesson delivery and student understanding
- Assess student progress regularly through assignments, quizzes, and tests, providing constructive feedback
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, motivation, and active participation
- Collaborate with colleagues and school staff to develop curriculum materials and implement best practices in teaching
- Teaching online and in-person students
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of mathematics at the high school level and beyond
- Proven classroom experience or teaching background preferred
- Excellent computer skills for lesson planning, virtual instruction, and student engagement tools
- Passion for education, patience, and the ability to motivate diverse learners
- Relevant certifications or credentials in teaching or tutoring are a plus
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Teaching certification is an asset
- Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 math curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry and calculus, and vectors.
