Highlights of the jobJoin Our Team: Labourer 2 – EPCOR Water ServicesEPCOR Water Services (EWS) is hiring up to five (5) full‑time, temporary Labourer 2 positions to support our Linear Asset Services team based out of the Aurum site in Edmonton, AB. These roles are for a term of up to 24 months, offering a great opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in essential water and wastewater infrastructure work.As a Labourer 2, you’ll play a key role in the construction, repair, maintenance, operations, and treatment of water and wastewater systems across EPCOR departments. If you’re someone who thrives in a physically active role, enjoys working outdoors in all weather conditions, and is ready to contribute to vital community services – this could be the perfect fit.What We’re Looking For:Self‑motivated and reliable individualsPrevious labourer experience for a large utility or in constructionComfortable working on a variety of assignments with different teamsAble to travel to various sites within and around EdmontonWho Can Apply:This opportunity is open to both internal and external applicants.EPCOR employees: Please apply using your “@epcor.Com” email address to ensure your seniority is recognized.Key Accountabilities – Labourer 2The key responsibilities of the Labourer 2 role include, but are not limited to:Safety Leadership and CompliancePrioritize safety and actively contribute to a “zero injury” culture.Demonstrate high safety awareness and consistently follow safe work practices.Perform all duties in accordance with safety and environmental standards, adhering to Federal, Provincial, EPCOR, and departmental regulations, policies, and procedures.Operational SupportAssist with the installation, replacement, and maintenance of water and wastewater collection infrastructure.Support video inspection and proactive flushing of wastewater collection systems.Perform ground disturbance activities, including the installation of protective shoring and shielding.Participate in confined space entries, including access to deep shafts and tunnels.Equipment and Tool UseOperate a variety of tools and equipment, such as power saws, jackhammers, picks, shovels, compressors, air tools, grinders,



and drills.Drive and operate large vehicles and pull trailers in an urban or highway environment.Traffic and Material HandlingInstall and remove temporary traffic control barricades and perform flagging duties in high‑volume traffic areas.Deliver materials and equipment across various City of Edmonton locations.Facility MaintenanceCarry out utility and maintenance labourer tasks within a treatment plant environment.What’s Required to Be SuccessfulTo thrive in the Labourer 2 role, candidates should meet the following qualifications and demonstrate the following attributes:Qualifications & ExperienceHigh School Diploma (Grade 12), GED, or equivalent secondary educationtranscripts may be required at time of interviewMinimum of 1 year of related labour experience.Knowledge and experience in water and wastewater infrastructure construction is considered an asset.Familiarity with hazards and safety controls in the water, wastewater and construction industry is considered an asset.Licensing requirements:Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License is requiredClass 3Q License is preferredClass 1 is considered an asset6 or fewer demeritsAbility to qualify for and maintain an EPCOR driver’s permitA 5‑year Commercial Driver Abstract (less than 30 days old) be required if one is not currently on file.Past infractions for unsafe driving may result in non‑selection regardless of demerits on fileReliable transportation to and from various job sites and EPCOR facilities.Physical RequirementsAbility to work outdoors in all weather conditions.Capable of meeting the physical demands of the role, including:Regular lifting and carrying of items up to 22 kg (50 lbs.).Performing strenuous physical tasks inherent to the position.Due to the nature of the role, you will be required (depending on the job) to wear a full mask and SCBA for several hours at a time and maintain facial hair to allow for mask seal and fit testing.Additional RequirementsCompletion of pre‑offer employment testing is a mandatory component of the recruitment and selection process.

Some EPCOR positions require an enhanced level of background assessment, which is dictated by law. These positions require advanced criminal record checks that must also be conducted from time to time after commencement of employment.A technical/practical assessment may be administered during the selection process and this exercise will be used as a part of the selection criterion.To meet the physical demands required of some positions, candidates must be in good physical condition and willing to work in all weather conditions.
