This is a predominantly remote position; however, travel to our Brampton and Oakville clinics will be required from time to time to support training, staff coverage, meetings, and other operational needs.

Prism Eye Institute (PEI) has been serving the communities of North York, Brampton, Oakville/Mississauga and surrounding areas for over 50 years.

In 2020 North Toronto Eye Care (NTEC) merged with Prism Eye Institute, to form Prism Group Holdings (Prism), the largest Ophthalmology practice in Canada.

In 2022, PEI further strengthened a partnership with Vision Group Canada (VGC) and is working to expand its footprint nationally. VGC operates over 50 clinics and 70 surgical facilities performing over 100,000 procedures annually.

PEI is an internationally renowned institute with 5 facilities and 2 surgical centres, serving over 200,000 patients and perform 10,000 surgeries each year. Prism is a centre of excellence providing a full spectrum of eye care and recognized for handling some of the most complex eye diseases in the world.

Tasks:

- Respond to patient and departmental inquiries by phone, email, and EMR/web portal, providing accurate and timely information.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments and referrals in accordance with established booking protocols.
- Obtain and accurately document patient information, appointments, referrals, and interactions within the EMR (Oscar).
- Manage incoming inquiries from patients, hospitals, pharmacies, and referring offices, ensuring appropriate follow-up and communication.
- Explain insured and non-insured tests, including their purpose, process, and associated costs, as required.
- Process patient documentation,



including medical forms, reports, referrals, invoices, and faxed communications.
- Operate the telephone system, direct calls appropriately, take messages, and provide general information while maintaining patient confidentiality and information security.
- Meet established daily and weekly performance targets and contribute to departmental metrics.
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
- Perform other related duties and administrative tasks as required.

- Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset
- Resourcefulness and a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to meet metrics and other targets.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Proficiency in using software and computers.
- Flourishing in rapid-paced environments.
- An ability to adapt quickly to changes.

Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
