This position is based at Sturgeon Community Hospital within the City of St. Albert. The successful candidate will be part of the Allied Health Community Audiology team, providing services to patients across the Edmonton Zone.As a Community Audiologist, you will deliver comprehensive audiology services to individuals of all ages (6 months and older). Your role will include conducting audiological assessments, supporting the prevention, identification, and management of hearing loss, and providing appropriate recommendations and follow-up care. In addition, you may be responsible for supervising hearing screeners to support quality service delivery. This is an excellent opportunity to provide community-based care within a supportive, interdisciplinary team environment focused on improving hearing health outcomes.Description:As an Audiologist, you will be working both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team, where you will be responsible for the screening, identification, assessment and management of patients (clients) presenting with hearing and balance (vestibular) disorders. Your leadership and interpersonal skills will be significant to you in supervising students and providing clinical guidance to other staff as appropriate. You will use your clinical expertise to inform program development and planning. You will interpret findings, provide counselling regarding hearing loss and balance dysfunction, and establish appropriate intervention plans to manage and reduce the functional impact of hearing loss. You will provide patients,
their families and other professionals with information and recommendations; making referrals to other agencies and professionals as required.Classification:AudiologistUnion:HSAA Facility PROF/TECHUnit and Program:Community Audiology Services - EdmontonPrimary Location:Sturgeon Community HospitalMulti-Site:Not ApplicableFTE:0.90Posting End Date:09-JUN-2026Employee Class:Regular Part TimeLength of Shift in weeks:2Shifts per cycle:9Days Off:As Per RotationMinimum Salary:$47.40 Maximum Salary:$62.97Required Qualifications:Master's degree in AudiologyActive or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA)Additional Required Qualifications:Strong organizational skills and excellent interpersonal/public relations skills are required as are excellent communication skills.Previous experience working in a community setting with 6 months of age to seniors.Basic Cardiac Life Support – Healthcare Provider (BLS-HCP).Self-direction, independent problem solving, sound clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.Time management and prioritization skills, with a demonstrated ability to function effectively within a dynamic, fast paced environment.Integration of patient and family centered care principles in all areas of practice according to clinical practice standards and consistent with the Values of AHS: Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Safety.Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to applicants with recent community pediatric experience as well as Connect Care scheduling and/or EMR familiarity.Security Screening:A satisfactory criminal record check and/or Vulnerable Sector Search is required prior to your first day of work.
