Overview An individual who uses a wheelchair is seeking caring, compassionate, and reliable Personal Care Attendants to provide assistance with daily personal care and household activities in a private home.
Training will be provided.
Duties
Responsibilities may include
- Assisting with transfers and mobility
- Bathing and personal hygiene
- Dressing
- Catheter care and bowel routine
- Meal preparation
- Light housekeeping
- Turning and repositioning in bed
- Operating mobility and personal care equipment as required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in personal support work, caregiving, nursing, or a related field is an asset but not required
- Training will be provided
- CPR certification is an asset
- Comfortable learning to use mobility and personal care equipment, including a Hoyer lift
- Able to safely assist with the physical aspects of personal care, including transfers, repositioning, dressing, and mobility assistance
- Comfortable providing personal care in a private home
- Reliable and punctual
- Valuable time management and ability to follow instructions
- Willingness to learn new tasks and procedures
- Police record check required
- Valid G Class driver's licence and reliable transportation are assets but are not required

Additional Information: This position is funded through the Direct Funding Self-Managed Attendant Care Services Program. The successful applicant will be employed directly by an individual self-manager.
