We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals in need of support in their daily lives. This vital role involves fostering independence, ensuring safety, and enhancing quality of life for clients across various care settings. As a PSW, you will work closely with clients, their families, and healthcare teams to deliver personalized, respectful, and attentive care that promotes well-being and dignity.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote comfort and independence
- Support clients with mobility needs, including transferring and positioning to prevent falls and injuries
- Administer medications accurately according to care plans and document all medication-related activities diligently
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements and assist with feeding when necessary
- Provide companionship and emotional support to foster positive mental health and social engagement
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning client living areas to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
- Monitor clients’ health status,
report changes or concerns promptly to healthcare professionals, and document observations thoroughly
Skills
- Proven experience working as a Personal Support Worker or in similar caregiving roles within assisted living facilities or nursing homes
- Strong background in senior care, dementia care, and working with individuals with disabilities or special needs
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety protocols
- Excellent caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and active listening abilities
- Ability to perform light cleaning, meal preparation, and home care tasks efficiently
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with healthcare teams, clients, and families
- Flexibility to adapt to changing care needs and work schedules
