Pharmacy Assistant

Job Responsibilities

- Process prescriptions accurately, including those for compounded medications.
- Select the correct mixture type/profile during data entry based on the prescription’s formula.
- Ensure prescription processing reflects the correct strength, days of supply, instructions (SIG), and refill quantities.
- Complete all required documentation within the pharmacy software accurately and consistently.
- Create and maintain patient files, ensuring all demographic and prescription-related information is up to date.
- Answer phone calls professionally to assist patients, prescribers, and suppliers with routine inquiries.
- Contact patients regarding prescription pick-ups, clarifications, and follow-up needs.
- Support general administrative and workflow duties to maintain smooth pharmacy operations.

Note: This position is focused solely on processing. It does not include compounding preparation, ingredient handling, clinical assessment, or stability evaluation.

Required Qualifications

- 3–5 years of pharmacy experience, specifically in prescription processing.
- Familiarity with processing workflows for compounded prescriptions, including mixture selection and detailed prescription entry.
- Ability to manage prescription details requiring careful attention to numeric and instruction-related information.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.




- High accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workplace while maintaining confidentiality.
