Langs has grown to become a dynamic, respected multi-service organization that uses a community development approach to provide comprehensive health, social and recreational services that are responsive to the changing needs of our community.

What We are Looking For:

We are currently recruiting for a ​Physician ​to join our ​clinical Team​ for a ​full-time​ position at our North Dumfries location. This role is responsible for ​providing primary care functions and participates in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs and services for individuals, families and the community.​

A successful candidate in this role would have

- Medical degree and family medicine residency from a recognized university
- CCFP Certification, or equivalent practical experiences, an asset
- General license to practice in Ontario from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- Three to five years of experience as a physician in a primary care setting, preferably in a community health or community health centre environment
- Experience working as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience in health promotion, community development and prevention programming an asset
- Experience in program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, an asset
- Proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities
- Detail-oriented with commitment to accuracy and quality
- Class G License and reliable access to a vehicle, travel is an expectation of this position

In this role you will be expected to complete the following tasks
- Perform assessment, diagnosis, treatment,



health education/counselling and other medical functions as required according to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario standards of practice
- Obtain and maintain hospital privileges at Cambridge Memorial Hospital
- Participate in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of treatment, education, counselling and health promotion programs and services for individuals, families and the community
- As a member of a multidisciplinary team provide holistic primary health care services, to individuals and their families in a manner which can be understood by the participant, and when applicable, their families; and by taking into account risk factors (environmental, social, psychological and medical)
- Perform clinical duties by seeing and assessing participants for routine health and illness care, prescribing treatment, during scheduled hours of service, providing on call service when scheduled and/or making home visits as necessary, and by communicating with other physicians regarding problems arising when on call
- Ensure appropriate, comprehensive treatment is delivered by maintaining complete, accurate and up to date medical records, participating in chart reviews and case conferences, and answering participant inquiries and referring them to the appropriate treatment and community resources
- Co-ordinate and/or provide care to participants during periods of hospitalization and with community health care professionals when participants are receiving in home care
- Supervise medical and nursing students by providing orientation, setting up schedules, and conducting individual teaching with shared participant contact
- Develop and maintain professional competence and increase awareness among staff of current health/service innovations (i.e. literature review, peer interaction, conferences, courses etc.)

The successful candidate would be eligible for the following benefits:

- Salary of $265,574 Annually ($159.60 hourly)
- 3 Weeks paid vacation, with an increase to 4 weeks after 1 year of employment
