OverviewBoeing Canada is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support the Defence & Government Services portfolio, reporting to the Manager of Defence & Government Services in Richmond, BC. The position requires robust leadership, operational experience and deep technical expertise in on‑prem infrastructure, application design, deployment and CI/CD.ResponsibilitiesLead infrastructure design, platform engineering and cross‑cloud/hybrid architectures.Define cost monitoring, optimization strategy and compliance.Design and coordinate monitoring and observability infrastructure.Mentor junior engineers and guide technical strategy.Implement security‑by‑design, cloud migration planning and cost optimization at scale.Act as a bridge between technical teams and executives, translating complex tech into business outcomes.Lead a multidisciplinary range of technical systems and application activities.Participate in incident response and post‑mortem analysis to continuously improve system reliability and performance.Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, operations, and troubleshooting procedures.Ensure all infrastructure components are securely configured and up to date with the latest security patches.Qualifications7+ years in DevOps, system administration or related technical role; minimum 5 years of software development experience.Minimum 2 years of Linux,
network administration experience and experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, OpenShift).Proven track record of leading technical initiatives, mentoring junior engineers and driving DevOps best practices.Experience with development, deployment and version control tools (Eclipse, Git, Jira, VersionOne); Agile team participation.Experience with continuous integration tools (Argo CD, GitLab CI/CD).Experience with on‑premises deployment and associated challenges.Must be eligible for authorization under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and Secret Level II security clearance.Must be legally able to work in Canada.Preferred QualificationsStrong knowledge of back‑end programming languages (Java, Python, Node.Js) and front‑end technologies (HTML, Angular, React).Infrastructure as code experience (Terraform) and application support in Docker.Experience with large complex databases (Oracle) and data model design.Experience with monitoring and logging tools, service mesh architectures and static code analysis tools.Additional InformationThis hybrid position requires some onsite work at the Richmond location. The role offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 – $195,000 CAD and requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Level II security clearance from the Canadian government.#J-18808-Ljbffr
