Physiotherapy / Rehabilitation Assessment Assistant

Traq Health Solutions Inc. is a Canadian medical assessment coordination organization that works with independent physicians and healthcare professionals.
We support medical assessment services through scheduling, documentation coordination, intake support, secure records management, communication, and administrative coordination.
We are currently seeking an individual with a physiotherapy or rehabilitation background to assist with in-person assessments conducted by a neurologist at our Mississauga location.
Position Overview The Physiotherapy / Rehabilitation Assessment Assistant will work in an in-person medical assessment environment and provide support to a neurologist during scheduled assessments.
The successful candidate will assist with assessment preparation, intake information, functional and rehabilitation history, documentation, and general assessment support under the direction of the assessing physician.
This is an assessment-support position and is not a treating physiotherapist position.
Registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario is not required for this assistant position.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the neurologist during scheduled in-person assessments.
- Help organize intake and assessment information before and during assessments.
- Obtain and clarify relevant medical, physical, functional, and rehabilitation history.
- Gather information regarding mobility, symptoms, functional abilities,
and reported limitations.
- Assist with assessment-related documentation as directed by the physician.
- Ensure assessment notes and information are clear, accurate, and organized.
- Identify incomplete, unclear, or inconsistent information and bring it to the physician's attention.
- Support an organized and efficient assessment process.
- Communicate professionally with physicians, examinees, and administrative staff.
- Maintain a professional and neutral approach in an independent medical assessment environment.
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling medical and personal information.
- Follow applicable privacy, confidentiality, and workplace requirements.
Qualifications
Candidates should have education, training, or professional experience in physiotherapy or rehabilitation.
Suitable candidates may include internationally educated physiotherapy graduates, recent physiotherapy graduates, individuals currently working toward Canadian physiotherapy registration, or candidates with previous education or experience in a rehabilitation setting.
Requirements
- Educational or qualified background in physiotherapy or rehabilitation.
- Strong understanding of basic physical, functional, and rehabilitation concepts.
- Familiarity with musculoskeletal and neurological symptoms and terminology.
- Ability to obtain and organize functional and rehabilitation history.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good documentation and note-taking skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Professional, dependable, organized, and punctual.
- Ability to carefully follow physician instructions and assessment procedures.
- Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive medical information.
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and administrative staff.
- Must be available to work in person in Mississauga.
Experience with independent medical assessments, disability assessments, insurance assessments, medico-legal assessments, or clinical documentation is considered an asset but is not required.
Canadian work experience is not required.
Compensation
$300 per scheduled shift.
Shift frequency will depend on assessment bookings and operational requirements.
