Job Summary

We are a busy Steel Service Center seeking a proactive and dependable Plasma Table Operator to join our dynamic team.

Position Summary The Plasma Table Operator is responsible for safely and accurately operating CNC plasma cutting equipment to process steel plate to customer and production requirements. The operator is responsible for verifying material and programs, maintaining cut quality and productivity, and ensuring finished parts and remnants are properly identified.

Key Responsibilities

· Review work orders, drawings, cut files, and nesting layouts before starting each job.

· Verify the correct plate grade, thickness, dimensions, and quantity before cutting.

· Set up and operate CNC plasma cutting equipment safely and efficiently.

· Verify the correct CNC program, nesting layout, and cutting parameters.

· Load and unload plate using cranes, magnets, forklifts, and other authorized equipment.

· Monitor the cutting process and address poor cut quality, dross, consumable wear, or machine faults.

· Check finished parts for correct dimensions, quantity, and cut quality.

· Properly identify and stage completed parts for the next production operation.

· Identify, mark, and return usable plate remnants to the appropriate inventory location.

· Minimize scrap, rework, material damage, and unnecessary machine downtime.

· Complete daily equipment inspections, cleaning, and basic operator maintenance.





· Replace plasma consumables as required and monitor machine condition.

· Immediately report equipment problems, material issues, incorrect programs, or production delays.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

· Assist in other warehouse or production areas when required.

Requirements

- Prior experience working in a warehouse environment is an asset but not necessary
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively throughout the shift
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions and safety guidelines
- Wage Negotiable based on experience.
