Gensteel is a structural steel fabrication shop looking for a reliable, hands-on addition to our shop floor. This is a split role: two days a week you'll run our Prodevco Python plasma beam line, and the other three days you'll support the shop with general labor, including pulling and staging steel details for our fitters to weld onto beams and columns.
What you'll do
- Operate the Prodevco Python plasma beam line (CNC plasma cutting/coping of structural beams) — 2 days per week
- General shop labor — 3 days per week, including finding, staging, and delivering steel details/parts for fitters to weld onto beams and columns
- Read and work from shop drawings and cut lists to pull the correct material
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe
- Help with general material handling and loading/unloading steel as needed
- Follow all shop safety procedures
What we're looking for
- Able to lift up to 80 lbs
- Comfortable standing for the full shift
- 1–2 years of experience in a steel shop preferred
- 1 year of plasma machine operating experience preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle required
- Reliable, punctual, and works well as part of a team
