Postmaster – Premises Provided by Postmaster (Group Office) is a full time, permanent kind of job with Canada Post, where you manage the day to day operations of a community post office, while also making sure customers get great service and local postal needs are properly supported. In this role, you’ll handle promotion and sales of postal products and services, supervise team members, keep an eye on mail operations, and see that the branch runs smoothly in line with Canada Post requirements. You’ll also take care of postal revenue and the records that go with it , help keep mail delivery processes working properly, maintain a neat and orderly post office, and arrange a suitable fully accessible location for Canada Post services right in your community.

Working Hours: 39 hours per week

- It’s pretty much about running the community post office day to day, so the work includes customer service, retail operations, mail processing, financial administration, and supervising staff.




- You’ll make sure postal services stay dependable, the operation runs smoothly, and you represent Canada Post in the local community too.

Responsibilities - Promote and sell Canada Post products and services, to customers, and local businesses.

- Manage the everyday operations of the post office, and confirm retail service expectations are met.
- Supervise staff, and step in to support mail delivery activities when needed.
- Keep postal revenue, assets, operational records, and the related reporting in valuable order.
- Sort mail, keep the post office clean and well organized, and run the site effectively.
- Provide and maintain an appropriate , accessible post office location, following Canada Post requirements.

Requirements - High School Diploma or it’s equivalent, OR some experience in business administration.

- If you’ve done retail work, customer service, or handled cash before that’s a plus too.
- Be able to provide owned, or leased, centrally located premises that are fully accessible.
- Having knowledge of postal routines and mail processing counts as a big plus, an asset kinda thing.
- You should also be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long stretches, and handle physical mail tasks.
- Strong communication is needed, along with solid organizing skills, and of course good customer service ability, like actually helping people in a calm way.
