Prepare ingredients and components meeting quality and safety standards in accordance with the established standard operating procedures (SOP) and recipe direction.
Major Duties of the Position:
1. Batch weighing of various ingredients according to precise requirements
2. Co-ordinate ingredient timing to the cook centers or production line(s).
3. Operate small equipment achieving the required dice, slice, shred, etc. as stated in recipe
a) Urschel Dicers b) Holding Tanks c) Can Openers d) Veggie Dumper e) Diaphragm Pumps f) Deville g) Cheese Cutter
1. Disassemble small preparation equipment for post-production sanitation
2. Safely and efficiently operate a walkie lifting device as required.
3. Accurately complete documentation. Record appropriate critical parameters on required paperwork and report deviations from standard to Team leader.
4. Maintain a work area that is clean and organized.
5. Assist Senior Preparation Operator, as required.
6. Assist Team leader with troubleshooting and end of shift countdown.
7. Minotaur consumptions / labour consumptions
8. Assist in all other areas of the factory, as required.
9. Adhere to all Health & Safety, GMP, and QA requirements. Pro-active in identifying safety concerns.
10. Actively participate in continuous process improvement initiatives.
11. Live safety as a value in practice through responsibility of self-action.
12. Care for the Workplace by actively seeking out ways to eliminate waste of natural resources and by properly recycling any waste that cannot be avoided.
13. Be actively engaged through participation in the “Caring Through Feedback” practice of encouraging safe behaviours and challenging at-risk behaviours with peers and coworkers.

Job Specifications:
1. Grade 12 education.
2. Demonstrated ability to perform whole number and fractional calculations.
3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
4.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks
5. Mechanically inclined to disassemble small equipment.
6. Willingness to train on major processing equipment.
7. Attend and successfully complete the Walkie lift truck training. Maintain a clean operating record.
8. Some previous knowledge of proper food preparation and handling would be an asset.
9. Strong multiple task and time management skills, and an overall professional demeanor.
Working Conditions:
Physical Effort
- Lifting 30-80lbs. 100-200 times daily.
- Lifting range of motion from floor to waist and from waist to shoulder.
- Pushing / pulling 800lbs. 10-20 times daily.
- Walking / standing continuously
Physical Environment
- Some exposure to noise (80 – 95 DB) with PPE.
- Wet / slipper floors
- Temperatures 40-90 degrees F.
- Wearing of PPE
Sensory Attention
- High – smell of raw ingredients for spoilage
GENERAL COMMENTS: The individual is part of a key functional work group responsible for the preparation of cooked sauces, meats, and starch components. They are punctual, reliable and completely familiar with the operation of the factory as a whole and work with the Preparation Team Leader and Department Supervisor to achieve the established factory goals.
