Position Summary The Principal position at CEFA requires a dynamic and visionary leader, committed to excellence in early childhood education. This role serves as a mentor and guide for our teaching staff, helping them to grow professionally while ensuring the successful implementation of the CEFA curriculum. The Principal also manages school operations, promotes student achievement, and fosters strong relationships with families and the community.
Key Responsibilities
Educational Leadership
- Ensure compliance with Childcare Licensing Regulations specific to region while fostering a culture of continuous staff development.
- Foster and promote a diverse range of learning experiences aligned with the CEFA curriculum, while ensuring adherence to ethical standards.
- Lead and support professional learning communities and teacher development initiatives.
- Regularly observe classroom environments and provide feedback and support.
Regulatory Compliance
- Uphold high standards of health, safety, and wellness throughout the school.
- Ensure compliance with all requirements set forth by relevant educational authorities and public health regulations specific to region.
- Maintain accurate records related to licensing and inspections.
- Coordinate and prepare for licensing inspections.
Operational Management
- Oversee daily school operations including administration, enrollment, staffing, and student layout planning.
- Assist in the planning and scheduling of daily activities.
- Manage administrative tasks to support school operations.
- Actively participate in school marketing efforts, including tours.
Staff Development
- Facilitate collaboration and effective decision-making among staff.
- Act as a liaison between teachers, parents, and management to ensure open, effective communication.
- Provide guidance and support to teaching staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
- Identify professional development opportunities for staff.
Community Relations
- Maintain strong community connections and represent CEFA's values with professionalism.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families and the community.
- Organize and participate in school events and activities.
- Serve as a liaison between the center and external organizations.
Health & Safety
- Implement CEFA health and safety policies.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations specific to region.
- Conduct regular safety drills and training sessions.
Qualifications
- Valid Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certification or equivalent specific to region (Infant/Toddler License or regional equivalent is an asset).
- Minimum three years of teaching experience in an ECE setting.
- Proven administrative or leadership experience in an early learning environment.
- Familiarity with current Childcare Licensing Regulations, Early Learning Framework, and Code of Ethics specific to region.
- Completion of at least three ECE-related professional development workshops.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Solid interpersonal skills with a passion for mentoring and team-building.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) specific to region.
- Strong knowledge of childcare regulations and applicable licensing standards specific to region.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general school administration systems.
- Must be flexible to work between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Must hold a valid government-issued ID.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position.
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for special events.
Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
