Reports to: Engineering / Manufacturing LeadershipSalary: $85,000 – $100,000 base salaryTerms: Permanent, Full-TimeLocation: Charlottetown, PEIThe OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead capital projects while supporting ongoing manufacturing operations. This role will play a key part in facility expansion, equipment implementation, and driving production efficiency across the plant. The successful candidate will also provide guidance and oversight to a junior Process Engineer and collaborate cross‐functionally to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and in compliance with regulatory standards.Capital Projects & Engineering LeadershipLead the planning, execution, and delivery of capital projects including facility upgrades, equipment installation, and process improvementsDevelop and manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverablesReview and approve engineering drawings, layouts, P&IDs, and equipment specificationsCoordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout project lifecycleManufacturing & Process OptimizationSupport day‐to‐day production by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, throughput, and product qualityTroubleshoot process and equipment issues and implement sustainable solutionsLead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologiesSupport recent product introduction and scale‐up activitiesTeam Leadership & CollaborationProvide guidance, coaching, and oversight to a junior Process EngineerPartner closely with Production, QA/QC, Maintenance,
and R&D teamsContribute to a collaborative, solutions‐focused engineering cultureCompliance, Validation & DocumentationEnsure all engineering activities align with GMP and applicable regulatory standardsSupport validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) for equipment and processesMaintain accurate documentation including SOPs, change controls, and engineering reportsHealth, Safety & Risk ManagementPromote and support a safe working environmentParticipate in risk assessments and implement mitigation strategiesEducationBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or related fieldExperience5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience leading or supporting capital projectsExperience in regulated environments (food, pharmaceutical, or natural health products) is considered an assetSkills & KnowledgeStrong project management and organizational skillsSolid understanding of manufacturing processes and equipmentExperience with AutoCAD, project management tools, and data analysis toolsKnowledge of GMP and validation practices is an assetContinuous improvement mindset (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)What Success Looks LikeCapital projects delivered on time and within budgetImproved production efficiency and reduced downtimeStrong collaboration across teamsEffective mentorship and development of junior engineering staffAdditional InformationMust be legally authorized to work in CanadaOpportunities for professional development and growth within a scaling organization#J-18808-Ljbffr
