Apogee Ceramics Inc. is a Canadian manufacturer of advanced technical ceramic components serving industrial customers across North America, Europe and other international markets.

We are looking for a Process & Production Development Engineer to join our Operations team in Paris, Ontario.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys being close to manufacturing — understanding how a process actually works, investigating why it isn't performing as expected, testing solutions, and turning those solutions into reliable production methods.

You won't spend your entire day behind a desk.

You'll work directly with production equipment, tooling, materials, operators, quality personnel and management to improve existing processes and help develop the next generation of products and manufacturing methods at Apogee.

What You'll Work On

Your work will span four core areas: Safety, Quality, Productivity & Process Engineering, and Research & Development.

You'll have opportunities to:

- Investigate manufacturing problems and determine root causes of defects, scrap, downtime and process variation.
- Develop and implement improvements to manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, fixtures and production methods.
- Use production data, testing and structured problem-solving to improve yield, throughput, quality and process stability.
- Plan and conduct engineering trials and validate recent or modified manufacturing processes.
- Develop process parameters and operating windows that create repeatable production results.
- Support equipment selection, modification, commissioning and continuous improvement.
- Design or improve tooling, fixtures, gauges, jigs and other production aids.
- Work directly with operators, supervisors and quality personnel to turn engineering solutions into practical shop-floor improvements.
- Support new-product development from initial trials and prototyping through validation, scale-up and production.
- Contribute to R&D; initiatives involving materials, manufacturing methods, process development and data analysis.
- Develop engineering drawings, process specifications, work instructions and technical documentation.
- Help establish manufacturing standards that make improvements repeatable and sustainable.

Who We're Looking For We're looking for an engineer who is curious, practical and comfortable taking ownership of problems.





You should enjoy asking why, working through data and evidence, testing ideas and seeing the results of your work implemented in production.

Required

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment. Exceptional candidates with strong relevant co-op or internship experience will also be considered.
- Solid engineering fundamentals and practical problem-solving ability.
- Ability to read and develop engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working directly in a manufacturing environment and collaborating with production personnel at all levels.
- Strong communication skills, initiative and follow-through.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Great to Have You don't need to arrive knowing everything about technical ceramics. Experience in any of the following would be an asset:

- Materials science or ceramics manufacturing
- High-temperature manufacturing or firing processes
- Process improvement or continuous improvement
- Root cause analysis, Lean or Six Sigma
- SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar CAD software
- Process validation and statistical/process capability analysis
- Prototyping, production trials or new-product introduction
- Tooling, fixtures, gauges or production aids
- ERP or manufacturing management systems
- Engineering change control and technical documentation

Compensation & Benefits We want this role to offer both meaningful engineering experience and a competitive overall compensation package.

Base salary: $65,000–$70,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
