Unipac is looking for a motivated Product Development Associate to join our Edmonton team.

For more than 40 years, Unipac has supplied meat manufacturers across North America with casings, specialized food packaging and ingredients.

This is a B2B sales-focused role dedicated exclusively to new customer development. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new customers for specific products distributed by Unipac.

The Role

You will identify prospective customers within the food and pet food manufacturing and processing industries, connect with the appropriate decision-makers, understand their requirements and develop sales opportunities for the specific products you are responsible for.

Previous B2B sales experience is an absolute requirement for this position.

Previous experience with casings, specialized food packaging, or within the food or pet food manufacturing and processing industries is preferred.

What You'll Be Doing

- Identify and prospect new B2B customers for the specific products you are responsible for
- Research potential customers and identify the appropriate decision-makers
- Generate new leads through telephone, email, online research and other prospecting methods
- Initiate conversations with prospective customers and identify potential sales opportunities
- Understand each prospect's requirements and determine how the products you represent may meet their needs
- Introduce prospective customers to the specific Unipac products you are responsible for
- Prepare quotations and consistently follow up on sales opportunities
- Develop prospects from initial contact through to becoming customers
- Build and maintain an active pipeline of new business opportunities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leads, contacts, conversations and opportunities in our CRM
- Work closely with Unipac's internal team throughout the sales process
- Work toward agreed new-business and sales targets

What We're Looking For The successful candidate will have:





- Proven B2B sales experience — this is essential
- Experience prospecting and developing new customers
- Confidence approaching businesses and speaking with decision-makers
- Strong telephone, email and interpersonal communication skills
- Persistence and the ability to follow opportunities from first contact through to a sale
- Good research, organizational and follow-up skills
- The ability and willingness to learn technical and specialized products
- Previous experience using a CRM system
- Salesforce experience is preferred, although experience with another CRM system is acceptable
- The ability to maintain and manage a structured sales pipeline
- Strong computer skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work independently while also working closely with a team

Previous experience in food manufacturing, pet food manufacturing, food processing, casings or specialized food packaging is preferred, but not required.
