Schedule: Part time; 20hrs/week, Weekend Availability, Afternoons

Wage: $23-$26/hr

Term: Sept 2026 to April 30th 2029, Contractor Position

Position Summary The Family Place is seeking an enthusiastic and community-oriented Program Facilitator to support the delivery of engaging weekday, afternoon, evening, and weekend programming for families.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with people and bringing programs to life. The Program Facilitator will focus on hands-on implementation—supporting activities, engaging participants, assisting with setup and coordination, and helping create a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Working closely with the Program Manager, the Facilitator will play a key role in ensuring programs run smoothly, participants feel supported, and activities are interactive, positive, and impactful.

Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Delivery & Participant Engagement

- Facilitate and support a variety of programs, including after-school, evening, and weekend activities.
- Lead or assist with activities such as games, discussions, creative projects, and informal learning experiences.
- Create a warm, inclusive, and engaging environment for participants of all ages and backgrounds.
- Build positive relationships with families and encourage active participation.

Program Setup & On-Site Support

- Assist with program setup, materials preparation, and space organization.
- Support day-to-day logistics during program delivery, ensuring activities run smoothly.




- Help with transitions between activities and end-of-day cleanup.

Community Interaction & Support

- Act as a friendly and approachable point of contact for participants.
- Listen to participant feedback and share insights with the Program Manager.
- Support efforts to reduce barriers to participation by creating an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.

Social Media & Promotion Support

- Assist in capturing photos, videos, and content (where appropriate) to highlight programming.
- Support basic social media updates and promotion of upcoming activities.
- Help spread awareness of programs through community engagement and outreach.

Team Collaboration

- Work closely with the Program Manager and other staff to deliver high-quality programming.
- Support facilitators, volunteers, and guest contributors as needed.
- Contribute ideas for activities and improvements based on participant engagement.

Program Monitoring & Feedback

- Track attendance and assist with basic record-keeping.
- Share observations about program success, challenges, and participant needs.
- Help ensure programs remain engaging, safe, and responsive.

Qualifications

- Experience working with children, youth, families, or community programs is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Energetic, approachable, and comfortable engaging with diverse groups.
- Ability to take direction and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Organized and dependable with a willingness to support a variety of tasks.
- Interest in community work, family support, or social services.
- Comfortable with flexible hours, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
- Basic familiarity with social media platforms is an asset.

Pay: $23.00-$26.00 per hour
