Opportunity: Project Manager

Job Location: Fort McMurray Region - Accommodations are not provided, must be local to Fort McMurray

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Anticipated Start Date - Mid October The Project Manager will be responsible for providing leadership in project planning, scheduling, procurement, cost control, subcontractor management, quality assurance, safety performance, and client relations while overseeing multiple concurrent projects

Position Overview

- We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Senior Construction Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of multiple commercial and industrial construction projects throughout Fort McMurray and the Wood Buffalo region.
- Reporting to senior leadership, the successful candidate will oversee all phases of project execution, from pre-construction planning through project closeout. This individual will provide leadership in project planning, scheduling, procurement, cost control, subcontractor management, quality assurance, safety performance, and client relations while managing multiple concurrent projects.
- The ideal candidate possesses solid technical construction knowledge, proven leadership capability, and the ability to balance field operations with strategic project management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities Pre-Construction Planning & Estimating

- Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to support project planning and execution.
- Prepare, review, and validate material takeoffs and quantity estimates using industry-standard digital takeoff software.




- Support procurement planning through accurate material forecasting and coordination with suppliers to minimize project risks and schedule impacts.
- Participate in scope reviews, bid evaluations, and constructability assessments.

Schedule Development & Project Controls

- Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Establish project milestones, identify critical path activities, and implement corrective actions when schedule variances occur.
- Provide regular schedule updates and progress reports to internal and external stakeholders.

Project Execution & Leadership

- Manage multiple commercial and industrial construction projects simultaneously while maintaining schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives.
- Coordinate project activities among internal teams, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and clients.
- Lead project meetings and provide direction to project coordinators, superintendents, and project staff.
- Ensure project deliverables comply with contractual requirements, project specifications, and client expectations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

- Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Gold Seal Certification (GSC), Project Management Professional (PMP), or recognized trade certification is considered an asset.

Experience

- Minimum 8 years of progressive construction management experience.
- Proven experience managing commercial and/or industrial construction projects ranging from small-scale renovations to large-scale capital projects.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent projects from initiation through completion.
- Experience working in Northern Alberta industrial or commercial construction environments is preferred.
