TKB Custom Millwork is looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee custom millwork projects from production through installation. The successful candidate must have extensive experience coordinating installation teams, managing project schedules, and travelling to job sites across North America. Most projects will be located throughout Ontario; however, coast-to-coast travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage custom millwork projects from production through final installation.
- Schedule installers and assign installation crews according to project requirements and deadlines.
- Travel to job sites with installation teams to review site conditions, coordinate installations, and resolve issues.
- Conduct site visits throughout Ontario and across North America when required.
- Coordinate with clients, designers, production staff, subcontractors, general contractors, and site supervisors.
- Confirm that job sites are properly prepared before installation teams are dispatched.
- Review architectural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, measurements, and installation requirements.
- Ensure cabinetry, millwork, hardware, materials, tools, and equipment are ready before installation.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and completion dates.
- Identify installation challenges and provide practical, timely solutions.
- Conduct quality-control inspections and prepare deficiency lists.
- Coordinate service work and ensure all deficiencies are completed promptly.
- Maintain accurate project records, installation schedules, site reports, and client communications.
- Ensure installers follow company procedures and job-site safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Extensive project management experience in the custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, or woodworking industry.
- Strong experience scheduling, coordinating, and supervising millwork installers.
- Thorough understanding of custom millwork manufacturing and installation processes.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of site measurements, construction practices, and installation requirements.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage several projects and installation schedules simultaneously.
- Comfortable working directly with clients, contractors, designers, installers, and production teams.
- Valid Ontario G driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Valid passport and the ability to travel within Canada and the United States.
- Willingness and availability to travel throughout Ontario and across North America, including overnight and extended stays when required.
- Ability to work flexible hours based on project and installation schedules.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
