Support the planning and delivery of strategic promotional initiatives and industry events
Join the Mineral Sector Analysis and Promotions Unit and contribute to high-profile initiatives in a supportive environment where learning, development and work-life balance are valued. In this role, you will help plan, coordinate and deliver strategic promotional initiatives, industry events, and business development activities that showcase Ontario's mineral sector. You will support the Ministry of Energy and Mines' participation at major mining conferences and trade shows in Ontario, across Canada, and internationally, including the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) Conference, the world's premier mineral exploration and mining event.
About the job
As the Promotions Project Manager, you will:
- Provide project planning and implementation support to project team staff, external service providers and contractors through all phases of projects
- Provide project management advice to project teams and external contractors/consultants
- Track project activities, including reviewing and monitoring project progress, key deliverables, timelines and budgets
- Assist in the development of events, and prepare presentations, work plans, briefings and reports
- Engage with project teams to obtain project updates and identify and resolve issues, challenges and barriers
- Conduct research and analysis for project initiatives and participate in the design of project master plans, including accountabilities and deliverables, for management approval
- Participate in development teams, committees and working groups
What you bring to the team
Project management and leadership skills:
- You have knowledge of project management tools and techniques and experience in project delivery
- You are familiar with decision-making processes and operational and administrative directives, policies and processes
- You can plan, organize, and manage project activities and deliverables with competing deadlines
- You have knowledge of financial and business planning processes to provide budget estimates/forecasts and manage expenditures
Communication and consultative skills:
- You have written and verbal communication skills to provide and exchange information, achieve consensus on issues,
as well as prepare and present briefing and communications material
- You can develop and maintain effective working relationships to coordinate joint promotional projects and activities
- You have excellent interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with your team as well as internal and external clients and partners, and participate in and contribute to committees and projects
Conceptual, Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
- You have the ability to research, design and develop creative promotional strategies
- You can evaluate projects and programs and provide recommendations
- You can use your analytical skills to identify and resolve issues
Organizational and Planning Skills:
- You are able to organize, multi-task and prioritize to coordinate project reporting and requirements
- You can lead the planning and delivery of meetings and events
Computer Skills:
- You are proficient in common software applications including social media applications to prepare event promotions, presentations, reports, and perform research on the internet/intranet
