RecrutXL has been retained to conduct a confidential search for a Purchasing Specialist on behalf of one of our clients, a well-established and growing manufacturer of highly engineered industrial equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a few years of purchasing experience who is looking to continue building their career in a dynamic, technical manufacturing environment.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As part of the purchasing team, the Purchasing Specialist will support the sourcing and procurement of materials, mechanical components, hydraulic and electrical parts, subcontracted services and specialty items required for production and customer projects.

You will work closely with suppliers and the Engineering, Production, and Project Management teams to ensure the right materials are available at the right time, quality, and cost.

- Sourcing materials, components and services
- Obtaining and evaluating supplier quotations
- Negotiating pricing, terms and delivery schedules
- Issuing and managing purchase orders
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships
- Following up on deliveries and helping resolve supply issues




- Monitoring inventory requirements and supporting production needs
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and improved supplier performance

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- 2-5+ years of purchasing experience, ideally within manufacturing or an industrial environment
- A diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or a related field
- Good negotiation, communication and organizational skills
- Experience working with suppliers and managing multiple priorities
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office
- An analytical, detail-oriented and proactive approach

Experience with capital equipment, heavy machinery, or mechanical, hydraulic or electrical components is an asset. WHY CONSIDER THIS PROSPECT?
