OverviewWood currently has an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Piping Designer to join our Mining & Metals business. This role will provide overall responsibility for Piping Design support on major projects within the Mining Industries. The position is located in Saskatoon, SK or Vancouver, BC and is Hybrid.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for various aspects of the layout, design and specification of piping systems and components for industrial plants related infrastructure. Key responsibilities include:Layout, design and specification of piping systems and components.Generation of piping specifications and supporting documentation.Collaboration with multidisciplinary team members to ensure design solutions meet project requirements.Management of multiple tasks and work independently within a multi-disciplinary team environment.QualificationsExpected: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, CADCAM, Design and Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Drafting and Design equivalent technical program and 3-5 years experience as a piping designer, preferably with experience in mining and slurry transport.Required skills:Self-motivated with good leadership and interpersonal skills.Proven experience and proficiency with AutoCAD 2D/3D, Plant 3D,
AVEVA E3D.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks.Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment.Additional assets include:Potash, Uranium or other mining experience.Design experience with specification generation, stress analysis and mechanical equipment layout, materials handling, and/or HVAC.Underground mining experience.Site / construction experience.BenefitsCompetitive salary with regular salary reviews.
