Overview

Busy west end Optometric practice looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our front end team. The position involves working with patients in person and over the telephone, scheduling appointments, referral processing, taking payments for services, third party insurance processing, supporting the rest of the office team and other administrative duties. We are a patient driven practice that values positive attitudes and team spirit.

Preference will be give to those with either education or experience in a medical office setting.

Duties

- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued from the moment they walk in
- Manage appointment scheduling efficiently using our electronic health record systems, recalls, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize patient flow
- Maintain an accurate filing system
- Answer incoming calls promptly, providing information and directing inquiries to appropriate team members
- Assist patients with Optometrist recommended therapeutics




- Maintain accurate patient records by updating personal details and insurance information while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations
- Handle retail sales of optical products and accessories, promoting available options with enthusiasm to maximize patient satisfaction and clinic revenue

Experience

- Previous experience working in a healthcare setting or optical practice is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to eye care and general health improves communication with patients and staff
- Retail sales or customer service experience demonstrates your ability to engage positively with diverse clients
- Background in retail or sales provides a robust foundation for promoting optical products effectively
- Ability to multitask confidently in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail is essential for success in this role

Pay: $15.00-$22.00 per hour
