About the Role
DKI Saskatoon Disaster Services is looking for an experienced Reconstruction Project Manager to oversee residential and commercial reconstruction projects, primarily related to insurance property-damage restoration.
This is a hands-on position for someone who can take ownership of multiple projects from initial assessment through completion. The successful candidate will coordinate employees and subcontractors, manage budgets and schedules, communicate confidently with property owners and insurance professionals, and ensure every project is completed safely and to a high standard.
Strong organization is essential. You must be comfortable managing competing priorities, maintaining firm project schedules, and keeping clients and project partners informed throughout the reconstruction process.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess property losses and develop accurate scopes
- Manage reconstruction projects from initial assessment through completion
- Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and work plans
- Coordinate company employees, trades, subcontractors, suppliers, and inspections
- Order materials and confirm they are available when required
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, property managers, insurance adjusters, and other project partners
- Conduct regular site visits, progress inspections, and quality-control reviews
- Monitor project costs, timelines, workmanship, and customer expectations
- Prepare and maintain complete project documentation
- Identify and manage supplements, change orders, and scope adjustments
- Address project delays or concerns promptly and keep affected parties informed
- Ensure work complies with company standards, safety requirements,
and applicable construction practices
- Support the successful financial and operational completion of each project
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of project-management experience
- Minimum of five years of construction, restoration, or closely related industry experience, or a comparable combination of experience
- Previous insurance property-damage restoration experience is strongly preferred
- Experience preparing construction or restoration estimates
- Strong knowledge of reconstruction methods, materials, sequencing, and general construction practices
- Experience with Xactimate, Encircle, PSA, or comparable restoration-management platforms
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage several active projects simultaneously
- Confident, professional communication skills
- Ability to maintain schedules, follow up consistently, and hold project participants accountable
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s licence and an acceptable driving record
Schedule and Work Requirements The regular schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may occasionally be required based on project needs, deadlines, or unforeseen site conditions.
Any applicable overtime or additional-hours compensation will be administered in accordance with Saskatchewan employment standards and company policy. This role includes regular travel to active construction and restoration sites. The successful candidate must be able to safely navigate active work areas, use stairs or ladders when necessary, wear required personal protective equipment, and perform the reasonable physical activities associated with site inspections and project oversight.
