Responsibilities
- Sort, separate, and process various types of recyclables such as cans, bottles, plastics, paint, cardboard, and electronics.
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks to move materials within the facility, adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the recycling centre by cleaning work areas and equipment regularly.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of recycling stations, ensuring all safety guidelines are followed.
- Monitor equipment performance; perform basic maintenance or report issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
Skills
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a physically demanding workplace.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes or waste management practices is advantageous.
- Certification or experience with forklift operation is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions clearly and precisely.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining high safety standards.
- Good communication skills and able to deal with the public.
