We are a warm and welcoming family residing in south Regina (Hillsdale area), seeking a compassionate and reliable FEMALE Personal Support Worker to assist our adult daughter, who lives at home and has a complex physical disability. Our goal is to find someone who not only provides exceptional personal care but also becomes a trusted companion and friend, focusing on her strengths.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Complete daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, changing, and mobility support.
- Mobility Support: Be able to transfer from wheelchair to bed or bath with ceiling track (TLR training required).
- Medication Management: Administer and monitor medications as prescribed.
- Community Engagement: Encourage and facilitate participation in community activities and events.
- Activity Planning:
Organize and engage in recreational and therapeutic activities that align with her interests.
- Emotional Support: Provide companionship, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
- Household Assistance: Perform housekeeping tasks dusting, vacuuming, mopping, some meals prep, laundry of female
Qualifications
- Applicant must be FEMALE (due to personal care needs).
- Certifications: Proof of current CPR and TLR (Transfer, Lifting, Repositioning) certifications
- Experience: Previous experience in providing personal care/support roles is necessary.
- Attributes: Reliable, trustworthy, punctual, and motivating.
- Reliable transportation to and from work is required
- Background Check: Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Language: Must be fluent and clear in English
- Must be empathetic, patient, strong communications skills, proactive & creative to engage female in activities. Respective of family values.
