Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, labeling, and dispensing to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves, checking expiration dates, and placing orders for pharmacy supplies.
- Provide excellent patient care by answering medication-related questions and offering guidance under pharmacist supervision.
- Maintain detailed records of medication transactions, prescriptions, and patient interactions in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Support medication administration processes in hospital settings, including preparing IVs or other specialized therapies.
- Ensure adherence to medical terminology standards and pharmacy protocols during daily operations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions and resolve medication-related issues efficiently.
Requirements
- Proven pharmacy technician experience with demonstrated knowledge of pharmacy operations and procedures.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration practices.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification as a registered pharmacy technician in accordance with state regulations is required; active registration must be maintained.
- Prior experience providing patient care or supporting clinical activities is a plus.
