Research & Regulatory Affairs Consultant (Part-Time / Contract)About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Research & Regulatory Affairs Consultant to support a strategic business initiative involving the Canadian market. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching government regulations, engaging with regulatory agencies, and providing clear, actionable summaries to support business decision-making.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys investigating complex topics, communicating with government officials and industry stakeholders, and translating regulatory requirements into practical business recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

- Research federal, provincial, and municipal regulations relevant to a specific product category and market opportunity.
- Identify, contact, and correspond with Canadian government departments, regulators, and other official agencies to obtain information and clarification.
- Review and interpret legislation, regulations, policies, guidance documents, and other regulatory materials.
- Prepare concise summaries, reports, and recommendations for company leadership.
- Identify regulatory requirements, risks, approvals, permits, or compliance considerations that may impact project development.
- Conduct additional market and industry research as required.
- Locate and establish contact with relevant business, industry, and professional stakeholders.
- Participate in a weekly 30-minute meeting with company leadership to review findings,



discuss progress, and establish priorities for future research.

Qualifications
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Exceptional ability to read, understand, and summarize government regulations, legislation, and policy documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable contacting government officials, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other organizations.
- Ability to independently manage research projects and prioritize tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience in regulatory affairs, policy analysis, legal research, government relations, public administration, compliance, or a related field is an asset.
- Experience working with Canadian regulatory frameworks is strongly preferred.

Work Arrangement
- Part-time contract position.
- Flexible working hours.
- Remote work acceptable.
- Approximately one scheduled 30-minute meeting per week with additional independent research time as required.

We are looking for someone who can uncover reliable information, identify what matters most, and communicate findings in a way that helps leadership make informed decisions. Curiosity, persistence, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments are essential for success in this role.

Pay: $18.29-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 4.0 per week
