Rehabilitation Therapist

Pay: CA$26.00 - CA$29.00 per hour

Position Summary

The successful candidate will be working under the direction of our Occupational Therapists. The Occupational Therapist Assistant (Rehabilitation Therapist) will implement a wide variety of rehabilitation programming and with the Occupational Therapist and patients to identify treatment goals and objectives, implement and provide feedback, assess and reevaluate with the care team as required and provide clinical documentation as needed.

Position Requirements

- Valid Drivers License and Reliable Transportation and willing to travel across the GTA
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check
- Minimum 2 years experience working under a regulated healthcare professional
- Strong working knowledge of the SABS

Primary Responsibilities:
- Support clients with their rehabilitation programs, as directed by our team of regulated health care professionals to help them reach their rehabilitation goals and ensure treatment is followed as identified by the provider
- Collaborate with clients and other healthcare professionals including providing observations and clinical notes as well as relevant feedback as required
- Document observations related to physical, behavioural and cognitive limitations and provide information to regulated health care professionals to identify areas for improvement as required
- Receive directions from management and implement regular feedback provided
- Participate in quality improvement and continuous growth and training activities as directed
- Adhere to workplace policies and operational procedures




- Maintain attendance and punctuality on appointments and scheduling
- Able to travel as required across the Greater Toronto Area
- Be respectful, courteous, and pleasant at all time
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, staff, and management
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Certificates

- Diploma/Degree in related healthcare field or specialized training (OTA, PTA, Kin, etc.)
- Qualified Liability coverage
- Vulnerable Sector Check (Clean)
- Valid Drivers License

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Sound behavioral management skills, cognitive problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) in English, time management and documentation skills.
- Clinical notes and professional communication between all relevant stakeholders including lawyers, clients, care team members, patients, regulated health care professionals, etc.
- Effective problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Proven consistency in work performance and teamwork, including reliability and flexibility
- Strong professional knowledge as it relates to the SABS
- Ability to understand internal and external resources available to patients and coordinate/educate patients on how to gain access to resources
