Dietary AideThe Dietary Aide plays an important role in supporting residents’ health, comfort, and quality of life by assisting with meal preparation, service, and sanitation. Through teamwork and attention to detail, this role helps ensure residents receive safe, nutritious meals in a welcoming dining setting.Leamington Mennonite Home is a faith‑based long‑term care and retirement community founded in 1964 to support seniors in aging with dignity. Today, we serve approximately 275 residents across a range of housing and care options.Our mission isALWAYS Residents First, guided by compassion, respect, and community.QualificationsFood Service Worker CertificateFood Handlers Certificate requiredGrade 12 preferredInstitutional cooking experience is an assetKnowledge of therapeutic and texture‑modified diets and Canada’s Food GuideKnowledge and high standards of safety and sanitation practicesExperience as a team member an assetGood health and fitness commensurate with the position (including standing, lifting, bending, and walking)Areas of ResponsibilityAssist in all aspects of dietary services within the Home as requiredEnsure teamwork, positive public relations, and respect for all individuals occurs in all aspects of the positionProvide excellent service to residents, visitors, co‑workers, and physicians, exhibiting courtesy, compassion,



and respectFunctionsAssist the Cook in the Dietary Department in meeting the nutritional needs of the residentsSet tables and prepare trays for meal service to residentsPrepare or assist in the preparation of meals and snacks for residentsAdhere to LMH policies and procedures in accordance with facility needs, regulatory requirements, and supervisor guidelinesEnsure that preparation and pre‑preparation work is completeServe meals and snacks to LMH residentsMaintain and promote good relations with all departmentsKeep kitchen and other kitchen‑related work areas and equipment clean and restockedImplement resident diet orders as per doctor and dietitian directivesAdhere to safety and sanitation regulationsParticipate in continuous quality improvement and quality assurance activitiesMaintain awareness of current dietary practices and procedures by participating in continuing education conferences, workshops, and seminarsWash dishes and perform cleanup duties following meals and snacksInitiate activities and behaviors that identify pride in the workplaceParticipate in the coordination of Meals on Wheels and Diners Club program, depending on the shiftInteract tactfully, courteously, and calmly with staff, residents, families, and visitors while maintaining confidentialityUtilize material resources effectivelyPerform any other duties as requiredBenefitsOptional HOOPP pension enrollmentVacation pay and statutory rightsCompany pensionOn‑site parkingJob Type: Part‑time, PermanentPay: $20.71‑$24.66 per hourResponsible to the Director of Dietary Services.We encourage applications from all candidates and will accommodate needs under human rights legislation throughout all stages of the recruitment and selection process.
