PCL is seeking Civil and Mechanical Students for an estimating position starting January 2027 in our Edmonton office. This role offers a fantastic chance to work under a lead estimator while gaining hands-on experience in the construction field. You will utilize PCL’s estimating manuals and systems while developing essential skills in quantity surveying and bid management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Understand and use PCL’s estimating manuals and systems
• Review quantity survey assignments with lead estimator
• Perform assigned quantity surveys accurately
• Provide purchase item quantities to purchasing department
• Develop relationships with trade contractors
Requirements:
• Pursuing a degree in civil or mechanical engineering
• Strong desire to work in construction management
• Familiarity with Microsoft Suite; knowledge of AutoCAD is an asset
• Self-motivated with a passion for learning
• Prior field experience is a plus
