Key Duties:

This project is part of a larger SSHRC-funded project on Age-Friendly Communities in Manitoba.

Duties for this position will include: 1) Design and Organize special events for Grandmother (Matriarch) gatherings with community partners and University researchers; 2) Collect and manage research data, conduct analysis of research results and document findings; 3) Interpret research findings and perform editorial tasks; 4) Supervise staff; 5) Contribute to overall activities and internal operation related to the project. Tasks will also include other relevant duties, as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience:

Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision and have excellent organizational skills. Strong abilities in writing and communication. Ideal candidates will:1) Have a Masters degree or be completing a Master degree in a related field (social sciences; health); 2) Have completed research methodology courses at an undergraduate or graduate level; 3) Have extensive organization skills and sound judgment; 4) Have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

In addition, ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and be self-motivated,



have the ability to work independently and with others effectively, and have the ability to uphold high standards of confidentiality and research integrity. This position requires in-person meetings in Brandon Manitoba. This project involves working with grandmothers and women (Indigenous and Non-Indigenous); identifying as an Indigenous woman (First Nations, Red River Métis, or Inuk) is an asset.

Completion of TCPS-2: CORE ethics.
