RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. Position Summary

Department / Research Program: Pharmacochemistry - MeDiC The project seeks to develop a new treatment approach for glioblastoma. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for the synthesis of multifunctional molecules and analyzing their ability to cross the blood-brain barrier using several techniques including mass spectrometry imaging. The incumbent must have a PhD in medicinal chemistry or equivalent with experience in mass spectrometry bioanalysis.

General Duties

- Ability to perform practical organic synthesis,
- Ability to perform and analyze NMR experiments,
- Ability to perform LC-MS analysis and mass spectroscopy imaging,
- Knowledge of pharmacokinetics is an asset.

Required Skills

- This position requires an advanced knowledge of oral French.
- An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required, as the position requires regular and complex contact with researchers or international students who are exclusively proficient in English. The position also requires complex writing or in-depth analysis of documents in English related to a research project.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
- Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,
- Exemplary writing skills with demonstrable experience in writing for academic and community audiences (e.g., publications, reports, grey literature, infographics, pamphlets, etc.),
- Autonomy (with minimum supervision after appropriate training), drive, initiative, creativity, curiosity,
- Team player,
- Ability to guide and support students and post-doctoral fellows in their research activities.

Additional information Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)

Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience

Work Shift: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm
