Residential Painter – Interior & Exterior

Data Pharms Inc., operating under HomeShare, is hiring a full-time /part time residential painter in Thunder Bay. The work primarily involves preparing, repairing and painting interiors and exteriors of residential properties.

This is a hands-on position for someone who can produce clean, professional results without constant supervision. Education is not important. We care about practical experience, attention to detail, reliability and the quality of your finished work.

Pay: $20 per hour

Schedule: Full-time

Location: Thunder Bay, Ontario

Responsibilities

- Prepare walls, ceilings, trim, doors and exterior surfaces for painting.
- Protect floors, fixtures and finished surfaces before starting.
- Patch holes, cracks and damaged drywall.
- Apply drywall compound properly, including taping, mudding and feathering repairs.
- Sand repaired areas smooth without damaging the surrounding surface.
- Identify and correct visible ridges, pinholes, rough patches and other imperfections.
- Prime new drywall, repairs, stains and other surfaces as required.
- Paint walls, ceilings, trim, doors and other residential surfaces.
- Cut clean lines by hand using a brush and roller without relying on excessive masking tape.
- Use an airless paint sprayer—preferably a Graco system—when appropriate.
- Mask and contain work areas properly when spraying.
- Complete interior and exterior painting during renovations and unit turnovers.
- Keep tools and work areas clean and organized.
- Clean the site thoroughly at the end of each shift.
- Take clear progress and completion photos.
- Report damaged surfaces, moisture issues and additional repairs before covering them.





What We Are Looking For Applicants should have demonstrated experience in at least one of the following:
- Qualified residential painting using brushes and rollers.
- Clean freehand cutting around ceilings, trim, corners and fixtures.
- Drywall patching, taping, mudding, feathering and sanding.
- Operating and cleaning an airless paint sprayer, preferably Graco.
- Preparing and painting exterior residential surfaces.

The strongest candidate will be able to handle the complete process: surface preparation, drywall repairs, priming, painting and cleanup.

- Reliable and able to work full-time.
- Able to work independently and solve ordinary painting and preparation problems.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in the finished result.
- Able to perform physical work, use ladders and safely move painting supplies.
- Able to follow instructions, communicate clearly and document completed work.
- Reliable transportation to residential properties throughout Thunder Bay.
- Comfortable working in occupied and vacant residential units.
- Own basic painting tools are preferred. Larger equipment and materials can be supplied as required.
