At Nak'azdli Whut'en, we strive to provide community-focused health and social services that uphold Indigenous values and address the distinct challenges facing our community.Job SummaryThe Office Assistant (Health) provides essential administrative and program support to the Nak’azdli Whut’en Health Centre and multiple health programs. This role supports daily operations, staff coordination, records management, and community health programming to ensure efficient, organized, and qualified service delivery. The successful candidate will be a dependable team player who can contribute immediately while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism.Key ResponsibilitiesAdministrative & Office SupportProvide front-line administrative and reception support for the Health CentreManage scheduling, calendars, meeting coordination, and correspondencePrepare letters, memos, notices, reports, and other documentsPerform data entry, photocopying, filing, and general administrative dutiesMaintain accurate, confidential client, program, and departmental recordsDevelop and maintain organized filing and records management systemsOrder, receive, and manage office supplies and administrative formsProgram & Departmental SupportSupport program staff and the Administrative Assistant with organization, documentation, reporting, and trackingAssist multiple departments with administrative and program-related tasksProvide backup support to the Patient Travel Program,
including coverage during staff absences or conflicts of interestAssist with organizing and facilitating Health Centre events, workshops, and community functionsMaintain office and community bulletin boards, ensuring information is current and organizedPrepare and submit monthly community events calendars for website postingCommunication & Professional ConductCommunicate professionally with staff, community members, and external partners by phone, email, and in personUse sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism at all timesMaintain strict confidentiality in accordance with policies, the Oath of Confidentiality, and Code of EthicsPerform additional duties as assignedRequired Qualifications & SkillsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma plus relevant post-secondary training or certifications.Demonstrated experience in office administration (health, social services, or public sector experience preferred)Skills & AbilitiesStrong organizational, scheduling, and document management skillsAbility to support multiple programs and departments simultaneouslyAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and follow through on tasksProficient in Microsoft Office and standard office technologyClear written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work cooperatively in a team environmentPhysically capable of performing job dutiesCertifications & RequirementsFoodsafe CertificationOath of Confidentiality (to be signed)Code of Ethics (to be signed)Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with access to a reliable vehicleAnnual Driver’s Abstract requiredCriminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Clearance (bi-annually)Working ConditionsFrequent computer use and long periods of sitting.Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.Communication with the public via phone, email, and in-personOccasional meeting attendance and presentation deliveryCompetitive salary based on experience and qualificationsExtended health and dental coveragePension contributionsClinical supervision and peer supportProfessional development and training allowanceEmployee wellness supportsHours of WorkHours and days of work will vary and are not guaranteed – this is casual, on-call work on an as-needed basis.#J-18808-Ljbffr
