About the Role

Executive Hotels – Whistler is seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused Rooms Inspector to join our Housekeeping team.

The Rooms Inspector plays an significant role in ensuring our guestrooms are clean, comfortable, properly presented and ready to welcome our guests. Working closely with Housekeeping, Front Office and Maintenance, this position completes final inspections of guestrooms, identifies deficiencies and helps ensure our cleanliness and presentation standards are consistently achieved.

This is a hands-on position ideally suited to someone with a strong eye for detail, pride in their work and an understanding that the condition of a guest's room is one of the most important parts of their hotel experience.

What You'll DoRoom Inspection & Quality

- Complete detailed inspections of cleaned guestrooms before they are released as ready for guest arrival.
- Ensure guestrooms meet established cleanliness, presentation and quality standards.
- Inspect beds, bathrooms, kitchens and kitchenettes, furniture, floors, windows, fixtures and other guestroom areas for cleanliness and proper presentation.
- Confirm required linens, towels, amenities and guest supplies are correctly stocked and presented.
- Identify missed cleaning items and other deficiencies before the room is released.
- Reinspect rooms once identified deficiencies have been corrected.
- Pay particular attention to VIP, priority, special-request and other designated guestrooms.
- Help ensure room status information accurately reflects the physical condition and readiness of guestrooms.

Identify & Communicate Deficiencies
- Identify maintenance concerns, damaged items, missing inventory and other deficiencies discovered during inspections.
- Report maintenance items promptly through established hotel procedures.
- Clearly communicate rooms requiring additional attention to the appropriate Housekeeping team member.
- Escalate significant cleanliness, maintenance, safety or room-readiness concerns to Housekeeping leadership.




- Document recurring deficiencies and communicate trends that may require additional attention.
- Follow through on identified issues to help ensure guestrooms are fully ready before being released.

Support the Guest Experience
- Approach every room inspection from the perspective of the arriving guest.
- Help ensure guestrooms are welcoming, comfortable and consistently presented.
- Respond professionally and courteously when interacting with guests in hallways or guest areas.
- Communicate urgent guest requests to the appropriate department and assist where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with Front Office to support priority rooms, early arrivals and changing operational needs.
- Help prevent guest concerns by identifying and correcting issues before arrival.

Housekeeping & Operational Support
- Maintain strong communication with Housekeeping, Front Office and Maintenance throughout the shift.
- Assist with guestroom cleaning, touch-ups, linen, amenities and other Housekeeping duties when operationally required.
- Maintain clean and organized Housekeeping and storage areas encountered during assigned duties.
- Follow established lost-and-found procedures.
- Follow hotel procedures for room access, keys and guest privacy.
- Use hotel systems, inspection tools and communication platforms accurately and consistently.
- Support new procedures, standards and operational initiatives as they are introduced.
- Complete other reasonable duties related to the position as assigned by Housekeeping leadership.

Safety & Security
- Follow all hotel health, safety and security policies and procedures.
- Immediately report safety hazards, security concerns, damaged equipment or unsafe conditions.
- Follow established procedures when entering occupied or vacant guestrooms.
- Handle cleaning products and equipment safely and in accordance with WHMIS requirements.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations and follow established hotel procedures.

What We're Looking For
- Previous hotel Housekeeping experience is strongly preferred.
- Previous room inspection or quality-control experience is an asset.




- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to cleanliness and presentation.
- Ability to identify deficiencies quickly and consistently.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to communicate concerns clearly, respectfully and professionally.
- Comfortable working independently while remaining part of a collaborative team.
- Ability to prioritize guestrooms based on operational and arrival needs.
- Dependable, punctual and committed to completing work to a consistently high standard.
- Comfortable using basic hotel technology and communication systems.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of a Housekeeping position, including standing, walking, bending, reaching and lifting throughout the shift.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.

Compensation This position is covered by the applicable collective agreement.

The full union rate for the Rooms Inspector classification is $27.18 per hour. New employees are paid at 85% of the applicable classification rate during the probationary period, in accordance with the collective agreement.

- Probationary Rate (85%): $23.10 per hour
- Full Union Rate: $27.18 per hour
