The salary for this role is expected to begin at Grade6, Step1 of the salary scale.Job SummaryThe Conklin Lab conducts population‑based epidemiologic studies with a focus on cardiovascular risk factors, gender and social determinants. The Research Assistant/Tech3 will support data‑driven research involving systematic literature reviews and meta‑analysis, coordinating data extraction and cleaning, conducting meta‑analysis, and supporting manuscript and report preparation. Ideal candidates will have a background in epidemiology and/or public health.Work PerformedPerform systematic literature review and meta‑analysis, including extracting data from included studies and preparing datasets for meta‑analysis.Conduct meta‑analysis utilizing complex statistical techniques, including subgroup and sensitivity tests relevant to social determinants of CVD risk factors.Prepare results for manuscript preparation and reports.Present research findings to the PI and other lab members.Provide training and/or guidance to new lab members (e.G., students, volunteers) on routine procedures and the use of lab tools.Assist with data management activities (including, but not limited to, data cleaning, coding variables, and preparing documentation) or with descriptive and inferential data analysis under supervision (e.G., using R, SAS, or STATA)



as needed.Perform other duties to support ongoing research projects and the Lab including participation and assistance in project team meetings and general administration as needed.Consequence of Error/JudgementAll work will be reviewed by the Principal Investigator. Errors in data handling, analysis, or reporting could negatively impact research quality and outputs. Solid attention to detail, confidentiality, and adherence to research ethics are essential. While the work may be complex, tasks are assigned by Dr. Conklin in close coordination with other researchers affiliated with the lab, and the incumbent plans and schedules his/her work.Supervision ReceivedWorks under general supervision; receives detailedinstructions on the assignment of new duties and thereafter only on a new or unusual problem.Supervision GivenThis position does not include formal supervisory responsibilities. However, the Research Assistant/Tech3 may provide informal guidance to new lab members (e.G., students or volunteers) on routine procedures or tools as they become more experienced. All necessary training and mentorship will be provided to support the successful completion of tasks.Minimum QualificationsCompletion of a relevant technical program or a university degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Willingness to respect diverse perspectives,
