Maintaining Occupational Health & Safety Standards is also a key part of this role.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSort and organize food donationsAssist with packaging assorted pastries, baked items and other food as requiredAssist with serving guests snacks, beverages, coffee, and warming sandwichesPerform food preparation: peeling potatoes, carrots and chopping vegetablesAssist with bagging items for various programs such as School Lunch Program, Food Depot, Men’s Kitchen, and other food programmingEnsure pantry, coolers, freezers, and fridges are kept clean and organizedWash and store dishesClean and keep kitchen organizedWork alongside and assist with volunteers as requiredMaintain Occupational Health & Safety StandardsParticipate in all required trainingMinimum Qualifications and SkillsExperience working in a kitchen environment is considered an assetFood safety certification is considered a solid assetMust be able to handle a knife and have basic kitchen skills (operating oven, dishwasher, other appliances)Good organizational skillsGood problem-solving and quick decision-making skills; ability to think "on-your-feet"Ability to recognize and maintain appropriate boundaries with co-workers, volunteers and guestsHigh level of confidentiality,
