CAMH’s Legal Services Department identifies, addresses and manages legal needs in support of the hospital’s business and strategic objectives. Its team of legal counsel and legal administrative staff provide support to CAMH’s clinical operations, corporate services and research functions, enabling CAMH to play a role as a leader in healthcare.

The Legal Office Administrator at CAMH oversees the general operations of the Legal Department by developing, implementing and maintaining systems and procedures to ensure the effective day-to-day operations of the Legal Services office. The Legal Office Administrator also provides direct support to the Chief Legal Officer’s strategic leadership of the Legal, Risk Management, Security and Emergency Preparedness teams.

The Legal Office Administrator’s day-to-day work involves managing department financial planning and budgets, supporting space and resourcing needs, acting as a point of contact on routine human resource matters and stewarding recruitment and orientation activities.



The Legal Office Administrator is also responsible for supporting the Chief Legal Officer with strategic leadership of her portfolio, including the creation and maintenance of Legal Office work plans, metrics and indicators, retreat planning, design and administration of surveys and occasional tasks related to special projects.

The Legal Office Administrator will have delegated people management responsibilities, primarily working with the Legal Services administrative staff supports to ensure successful implementation of the practices and processes of the Legal Department.

The Legal Office Administrator should be driven, organized and eager to improve the operations of the team, in alignment with the hospital’s broader strategic goals. This role functions as a ‘go to’ person for various challenges arising. The successful candidate is someone who is creative and motivated to seek out solutions on a diverse range of issues.
