Executive Underwriter, Casualty – Role OverviewAgile Underwriting Solutions offers a permanent, full‑time Executive Underwriter, Casualty position. This hybrid role is based in Dartmouth, Ontario, but we are open to candidates anywhere in Canada.Compensation & BenefitsExpected Compensation:$82,400 to $103,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience. A competitive annual short‑term incentive program accompanies the base salary.Perks:High‑growth environment with career development opportunitiesComprehensive medical and dental coverageDiverse workforce and strong work/life balanceEducational and continuous learning programsFlexible paid Values Days to celebrate important personal occasionsResponsibilitiesUnderwrite and manage a complex casualty portfolio (protective services, wrap‑up liability, wet contractors, snow removal, liquor liability), evaluating, selecting, negotiating and pricing both standard and non‑standard risks within authority.Broker risks to O&A markets, leveraging strong relationships to secure optimal placement for complex or layered casualty accounts.Analyze detailed risk information to determine acceptability, coverage structure, and pricing adequacy, particularly for high‑hazard and specialty liability classes.Integrate loss control,
claims insights and risk management practices into underwriting decisions to support disciplined risk selection and long‑term account performance.Support development and enhancement of specialized casualty products and programs aligned with Agile’s growth strategy and risk appetite.Build and maintain strong broker relationships, acting as a trusted technical resource while educating partners to improve submission quality and alignment with target classes.Monitor underwriting results and support team performance to achieve production targets, collaborating across teams and participating in industry initiatives to drive best practices and business development.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a related discipline and a CIP designation; FCIP or other advanced designation is an asset.8–10 years of commercial underwriting experience, focused on casualty lines.Expert‑level technical underwriting, analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess complex risks and make sound, timely decisions.High attention to detail and the capacity to efficiently navigate large volumes of complex information.Strong time management, independence and excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building skills with internal teams and external partners.Equal Opportunity & AccommodationsAgile Underwriting Solutions encourages applications from all qualified individuals.
