Apply By:Monday, June 15, 2026 11:59 pm EDTMinistry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills DevelopmentDivision:Office of the Worker AdviserJob term:3 Temporary (up to 12 months with possibility of extension)Job code:$1,695.42 - $2,113.08 Per week**Indicates the salary listed as per the OPSEU Collective Agreement.Discover the challenges and rewards of making a difference in the lives of Ontarians through providing education and advice to non-unionized workers in relation to workplace health and safety laws.The Office of the Worker Adviser (OWA) is a dedicated and professional team and we look forward to enriching our team with your health and safety expertise, particularly as it relates to Workplace Insurance Safety Board (WSIB) guidelines and claims.About the jobAs part of this professional team, you will:work on files from early resolution up to and including Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal (WSIAT) appeals and hearingsgive advice, and educate workers and worker organizationsco‑ordinate multiple cases using a case management systeminvestigate circumstances of claim by obtaining and analysing relevant information and conducting interviewsadvise and direct injured workers, survivors, their families and community partners regarding issues and evidence required for a successful resolutionadvocate and present cases on behalf of clients at all appeal levelsprepare clients and witnesses for hearings or appealsmake written or oral presentations to Appeals Resolution Officers and WSIAT Vice Chairs and panelsWhat you bring to the teamMandatory requirementsYou are licensed by the Law Society of Ontario and entitled to provide legal services in Ontario; OR you are currently employed with the Office of the Worker Adviser (OWA)



or the Office of the Employer Adviser (OEA) and covered by the exemptions for the stated offices, as determined by the Law Society of Ontario.Communication SkillsYou possess well‑developed oral and written communication and advocacy skills to articulate issues, make effective arguments before adjudicative bodies, interview/examine witnesses, and communicate complex information.You have the ability to empathetically manage client relationships and communicate legal issues and arguments in plain language.Research and Analytical SkillsYou have proven research and analytical ability to obtain and interpret legislation, case law, policies and procedures and assess complex case information to develop case strategies and determine appropriate legal remedies.Case Management and Organizational SkillsYou can manage a caseload and meet deadlines in a high‑volume workplace proactively and independently.Don't meet every qualification?If you are excited about this position and meet most, but not all, of the listed qualifications, please still consider applying.
