Health Care programs are designed in partnership with community members and leaders to promote environments that support good health. The maintenance of cultural competence and the provision of culturally safe care is paramount. The Nurse Practice Advisor - Home and Community Care provides leadership and professional support, education and awareness to nurses practicing in home care nursing. In collaboration with identified Program Managers, they support First Nations leadership and communities with advice, assistance and guidance in all matters relating to Home Care services within Saskatchewan.Intent of the processThe intent of this process is to staff the following positions:One Nurse Practice Advisor on a full‑time, indeterminate basis.One Nurse Practice Advisor on a full‑time, term basis for approximately one year.Selected candidates must be willing to relocate to Saskatchewan.Conditions of employmentReliability status security clearance.Current valid registration as a Registered Nurse and a member in valuable standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS).Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Valid, unrestricted driver’s license that allows the holder to drive a motor vehicle in Saskatchewan.Willingness and ability to work overtime on short notice.Willingness and ability to remain on travel status for extended periods of time.Willingness and ability to work in a rigorous,



diverse and often demanding work environment.Willingness and ability to complete mandatory education/training relevant to the position.Essential QualificationsEducationGraduation with a degree from a recognized post‑secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in nursing, nursing service administration, nursing education or some other specialty relevant to the position.Occupational CertificationEligibility for registration as a registered nurse in a province or territory of Canada.ExperienceExperience as a Registered Nurse (RN) providing Home Care or Primary Care Nursing in one or more of the following areas:Wound managementChronic disease managementPalliative careExperience managing or leading a healthcare program, healthcare services, or healthcare team.Asset Education (optional)Graduation with a master’s degree from a recognized post‑secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in nursing, nursing service administration, nursing education or some other specialty relevant to the position.Asset Experience (optional)Experience with community development principles and strategies.Experience in developing policies, procedures or directives.Experience with teaching, giving presentations, and/or mentoring adult learners.Experience in providing health care services to Indigenous people and/or Indigenous communities.Experience in interpreting and implementing best practice guidelines.Experience using spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel or Electronic Service Delivery Reporting Template.Experience working in rural, remote and/or isolated locations.Organizational NeedIndigenous Services Canada is committed to having a skilled and diversified workforce representative of the population we serve.
