Key Responsibilities:

Product Costing & Pricing

- Own the preparation and maintenance of product costings for new and existing products across all manufacturing facilities.
- Work with R&D;, Operations, plant purchasing teams, Sales and Finance to obtain the inputs required to develop accurate product costings.
- Determine appropriate customer pricing based on product costs and required margins, and provide Sales with pricing recommendations for new business and customer price changes.
- Compare costing assumptions to actual manufacturing and purchasing performance and investigate material differences with Operations and Finance.
- Regularly review product and customer margins, identify significant changes or areas of concern, and work with Sales, Operations and Finance to determine appropriate pricing or cost actions.

Purchasing Coordination & Cost Savings

- Develop company-wide visibility into purchasing across all manufacturing facilities and identify pricing, supplier consolidation and volume opportunities.
- Coordinate purchasing activities and information across the plants, while day-to-day purchasing remains the responsibility of each plant.
- Lead regular purchasing meetings with plant purchasers to review pricing, supplier issues, sourcing opportunities and cost-saving initiatives.
- Support sourcing, RFQs and supplier negotiations through analysis of pricing, volumes and commercial terms.

Commodity Management

- Monitor key commodity markets, pricing trends and the Company's purchasing requirements and contracted positions.
- Analyze the impact of commodity price changes on product costs, margins, budgets and forecasts.

- Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to evaluate purchasing and contracting alternatives.
- Develop and present recommendations to management on commodity purchasing strategies, including timing, quantities and contracting decisions.
- Support budgeting and forecasting by providing purchasing, commodity and expected cost assumptions.

Inventory Accuracy & Controls

- Provide company-wide oversight of inventory accuracy and variance reporting across all manufacturing facilities.
- Investigate significant or recurring inventory variances with Plant Operations, Purchasing and Finance to identify root causes.
- Coordinate corrective actions and recommend process improvements to reduce inventory variances and improve controls.
- Support consistent inventory-control practices and reporting across the organization.

External Freight Analysis & Management

- Develop company-wide visibility into external freight costs, carrier pricing and service arrangements.
- Identify and quantify freight cost-saving opportunities, including volume consolidation, rate improvements and alternative freight arrangements.
- Support freight-provider sourcing and rate negotiations.

Skills & Competencies

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate detailed cost and purchasing information into clear business recommendations.
- Strong understanding of product costing and the factors that influence product and customer profitability.
- Commercial mindset with a strong interest in understanding how purchasing decisions affect costs and margins.
- Ability to identify opportunities, quantify financial impacts and follow initiatives through implementation.
- Solid attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Curious and investigative approach to problems; willing to understand the underlying operational process rather than relying solely on reports.
- Comfortable working directly with manufacturing and plant-level teams.
- Ability to influence and coordinate across multiple facilities and functions without direct reporting authority.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop productive relationships with plant teams, Sales, Finance, Operations and suppliers.
- Ability to challenge existing practices constructively and support recommendations with facts and analysis.
- Organized and able to manage multiple priorities and initiatives across different manufacturing facilities.

- Demonstrated interest and ability to develop stronger supplier negotiation and commercial skills over time.
- Proactive approach with an expectation to identify issues and opportunities and bring forward recommendations rather than waiting for direction.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Operations or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience of 4-6 years in product costing, procurement, supply chain or commercial analysis within a manufacturing environment.
- Manufacturing experience is required; food manufacturing or CPG experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong experience in product costing and cost analysis, with a practical understanding of purchasing, supplier pricing and procurement processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical/modelling capabilities.
- Experience with Power BI or similar analytical/reporting tools is an asset.
- Exposure to commodity purchasing or commodity markets is an asset but is not required.
- Knowledge of food packaging materials, specifications or packaging suppliers is an asset.
