About the Role: We're building a bench of data professionals to support a municipal government data management and business intelligence consulting engagement. We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer with deep, long-tenured experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), the enterprise standard since its 2005 release.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines across batch, streaming, and API-based sources
- Apply data transformation, standardization, and quality validation within pipelines
- Implement orchestration, scheduling, and error handling for production data workflows
- Support metadata, lineage, and data standards alignment for governance and interoperability
- Produce documentation and runbooks to support ongoing operability
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server
- 8+ years hands-on experience with SSIS package development
- Experience with DataOps practices (CI/CD, versioning, automated deployment)
Strongly Preferred:
- 15–20+ years SQL Server experience
- Experience spanning multiple SQL Server versions/upgrades
- Municipal or public sector project experience
